Welcome to Christ the King! Serving the faithful CTK community as principal since the summer of 2019 has been a great honor and privilege. During the 2023 school year, I completed the Institute for Catholic Liberal Education's School Leader's Academy. In 2018, I earned my administrative licensure from the University of Portland. I also hold a Master's in Teaching from George Fox University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies from Oregon State University.
This is my twenty-first year in Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Portland and sixth year at Christ the King Parish School. My previous years were spent at Regis St. Mary Catholic School in Stayton, where I held the positions of elementary teacher (first grade for five years and fourth grade for six years), Advancement Director and Vice Principal.
I pray that our students have a transformative encounter with Jesus Christ and are on the joyful path to sainthood!
TRAINING: School Leader’s Academy Certificate, Institute for Catholic Liberal Education; Post-Baccalaureate Principal License Program, University of Portland; Masters in the Art of Teaching with Elementary and Early Childhood Education Endorsements, George Fox University; Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies, Oregon State University
FAVORITE SAINT: Joan of Arc is a newly discovered favorite and companion. I found her to be making her presence known to me quite often over the course of the last three years, which led to my reading Mark Twain's, Joan of Arc, and I fell in love. What an inspiring and faithful model of courage and trust in the Lord. And how appropriate her example is during these apostolic times. We can't be unfaithful to grace. "I was born for this!"
MORE ABOUT ME: I have two children: Caroline (14) and James (12). Spending time outdoors, especially camping, salmon and steelhead fishing and deer hunting is where I find joy. When I'm not outside, I enjoy creating, specifically crochet and stained glass art.
WHY I CHOOSE TO TEACH AT CTK: It's the Lord's will! Back in 2019, I accepted the Principal position at Christ the King without ever having set foot in the school. The Lord was calling me here. What a ride it has been! I have been on a personal journey of reversion and healing and have been called to the mission of Catholic school renewal. Witnessing our staff and students blossom in their faith and develop into the people God is calling them to be is a great honor and privilege.
