I have been a part of the CTK team since 2021 teaching Science, Theology of the Body, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Electives. I majored in Industrial Engineering at Oregon State University and completed two full-time engineering internships during my time there. During my college years, I was heavily involved in the Newman Center (Catholic Campus Ministry) at OSU and went on to complete a year as a full-time volunteer campus missionary at Oregon State after graduation. During the missionary year, I began to seek more ministry related opportunities to incorporate my love for science with my love for the Catholic faith and found my way to Christ the King. Since joining CTK, I have discoverd a passion for liberal arts education and will be earning a Certificate of Liberal Arts Teaching from the Institute for Catholic Liberal Education (ICLE) in December 2023.

FAVORITE SAINT: St. Philip Neri is the patron saint of joy and humor. I've always had a desire to be a source of joy and humor to others, and I am certain that it is my friendship with St. Philip Neri that has enabled me to be so.
Fun Story: I had a chance to visit his church and burial place in 2019, but while I was there, I didn't feel a very strong connection. As our group was about to leave, I noticed my fly was unzipped and had to have been so for well over two hours. No doubt, this was a message from St. Philip Neri.
MORE ABOUT ME: I love music, dancing and traveling. WHY I CHOOSE TO TEACH AT CTK: One email can change your life. In February of 2021, I sat in my bedroom, about 8 days into a 14 day quarantine, trying to figure out what I would do after serving one year as a campus missionary. The number of tabs on my internet browser kept rising with engineering jobs and potential graduate degrees in philosophy, theology, psychology and education. I had enjoyed my engineering classes, but my internships left my appetite for mission underwhelmed. Before too long, I decided to reach out to someone in a Catholic school to see if it was for me. With all his Corvallis connections, Monsignor Cihak seemed like the best option. We set up a meeting and the more we talked, the more excited we became about each other's vision and he invited me to apply to Christ the King. I quickly found that Mrs. Taber also shared the same vision: to make saints. I couldn't have asked for a better place to work or better people to work with.
